STARTING THE NEW YEAR IN SEPTEMBER

I was the kind of child who was pleased to see the ‘back to school’ adverts. I like September because of the promise of a new start. Beginning a new project and looking to commission a writer? Call me – I bring the excitement of stocking up on new stationery.

SHARPEN YOUR PENCILS AND OPEN A CRISP NEW EXERCISE BOOK

Nothing beats the tactile pleasures of new stationery. There seems to be a resurgence in old school print projects. And I’ve felt like a teacher sitting down to edit a series of academic reports. Don’t know your Vancouver from your Harvard referencing? Pass it over and I’ll correct it with my red ink. And I promise not to use Tippex on the computer screen when copyediting. Call me.

SET SQUARES AND CALCULATORS

The death of print has been exaggerated. But there’s no let up in website activity. I provided content for www.scphrp.ac.uk – the primary online presence for the Scottish Collaboration for Public Health Research and Policy, which is itself in its infancy. And when not covering interventions to improve Scotland’s health I scattered Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls and lampwork beads over the Angel Designs Jewellery website (not yet live), working with 39 Steps Studio.

ORDER SOFA TODAY FOR DELIVERY BY XMAS

That’s the summer over. We can all get back to full productivity. Only 75 working days ‘til Xmas. Yes I know. Where are the adverts on the telly whipping up hysteria, reminding clients to book their website or annual report now to ensure Xmas delivery? If 75 days isn’t long enough to deliver your campaign or turn around a website throw more resources at it. Me.

I’m the elastic in the games pants for a couple of agencies. If you’re overstretched give me a call. I’m flexible, and discreet. See the testimonial at the end from an agency-that-prefers-not-be-named.

PLEASE DON’T CONDEMN THOSE OF USE WITH COLOUR CODED FOLDERS

I provide content. I also provide marketing services. I understand copy and how it works as a direct marketing technique, how it should work as a marketing tool. And I work across all channels because what works offline (in print – brochure, newsletter, poster) will work online too (web, blog). I’m also a trained journalist, copy editor and proofreader. And I have a background in communication. For compelling and engaging content contact gill@wordsareeverywhere.co.uk
