Key challenge

I regularly produce case studies and features – anything from a few paragraphs to a couple of pages. Because they’re basically articles, they’re great for a former journalist to get her teeth into. Over the years I’ve been commissioned to interview companies for Mentor, the Royal Bank of Scotland magazine for business owners.

The content for the hospitality and leisure industry sector focus was written from interviews with employment law and HR, health and safety and environmental management professionals showing how many businesses, including the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland, use Mentor services to help anticipate and manage risks around large events.

Excerpt

“More than a million people in the UK work in hospitality and leisure businesses of all sizes – in restaurants, hotels, takeaways, public houses and clubs. One factor common to all these businesses is the increasingly complex aspect of regulation leading to increased operational risk. This can lead to higher costs and exerts more pressure on management time. Worse, the failure to keep up can have disastrous consequences – legal action, heavy fines, and loss of reputation. It can even force the closure of your business.”
