Key challenge

Writer for HSBC’s Trade Radar, a quarterly print magazine that goes out to leaders in 10,000 UK businesses with turnover in the £2m-£30m mark. The aim is to provide inspiration and advice for growth, especially international growth. In the main piece, the Trade Radar Audit feature, I speak to a company operating internationally and identify their four key challenges. I then identify suitable experts, ask them to tackle the business issue and then write answers that are relevant to other companies that may be facing similar challenges.

Excerpt

“Supplying the stadium flooring, the custom-printed giant map of London’s streets, for the opening ceremony of the London Olympics should have put us in a good position to access larger markets than the UK. We put in place the resources to deal with the very different needs of the Olympics, with significant innovation to create the world’s largest printed stage floor. We won a high profile customer but until recently couldn’t use the kudos for our marketing. Due to LOCOG restrictions we couldn’t pursue strong initial interest, including a potential joint venture with an American partner. How do we leverage the Olympics? Are we too late?”
